Ian Palma and I are in the office, thinking about the things that we are going to ask Dimsum. Earlier, we were brainstorming for questions for Southborder and MYMP. It’s not that easy… Unlike the two bands, Dimsum is new and not yet that known. Well at least to me and Ian. After around 30 minutes, we came down to check on them. They’re ready but the show’s about to start. So we decided to just wait for their gig to finish
After another minutes of waiting, Southborder arrived. They were ready for the interview. As we came inside their dressing room, Ian and I have never been that nervous in our lives. When we got in, the crowd was magulo and fun. Duncan was dancing around and everyone was laughing – making noise as if they are not worried about the fact that their performance is already next. Then someone announced and told them, “Guys, these people are from the school paper and they would like to interview you.”
Everyone gathered around and I started the first question feeling a little bit uncomfortable that I was hanging around with such popular people. But their being makulit made me feel at ease.
Jay Durias was mostly the one who answered my questions. I also informed Duncan that I know the people he had danced with in a bar in Palawan last March. Then they started teasing him and I laughed. When asked what their girl type is (Vince and Duncan are the only ones single) they both agreed that a girl would just have to be true to her herself.
At the middle of the interview everyone went back to their business. Duncan dancing around, Vince sat down with Aliyah Parcs (ehem!) and the rest making noise again.

Hanging out with Southborder (look at Duncan.hehe!)
It’s really good that Jay was patient enough to finish the interview. LOL!

The interview with Dimsum was next. It was fun because I got to know a new band! Again, the crowd was friendly and accommodating. They have such high spirits and I simply adore them for their sense of hard work. In no time, I know they are going to make it as one of the popular bands of the OPM genre.
Ian, Me and Dimsum
The last but not the least was MYMP. I demanded that Ian do the interview this time because all he did was to take pictures. Now he did the interview while I did the pic taking. It’s really surprising because when I saw Juris last year in a gig at Alabang with my IT friends, I thought that she was standoffish. Well, I thought wrong! She was very down to earth! Not to mention, cute. You will never feel that you are talking to a famous person when you’re with her. Her partner in success, Chin is also nice and sweet. He’s such a gentleman and even if you can feel that he’s tired, he’s all smiles for the picture and the interview.
It was not easy doing this interview but it’s really worth it. September 2 will be one of my most unforgettable dates.
Pinoy stars not only have talent and looks. They also know how to keep their feet on the ground. Maybe this is why the OPM scene has boosted so much because of this attitude.
Of course, there are some who are well…let’s just say a lil’ bit snooty (like the ones I interviewed last year). But then again you just can’t expect everyone to act the same, can you?
