I am no jologs mainstream wannabe but this just struck me.
According to the news, Starstruck I survivor Jennlyn Mercado is planning to hit the gym. No, her purpose is not to get healthy. It is because she is said to do a sexy pose for a men's magazine. The reporter even said that she is planning to take a brave step in her career and take off her wholesome image.
In my opinion
Have you been observing her nowadays? During my night travels I often get a glimpse of her TV show I Love New York. And I cannot help but notice that she is beginning to dress too sexy. Just too sexy... So why say that she is planning to take off her wholesome image if in the first place she is really not wholesome anymore?

Not against the actress
I have nothing against her. For me she is a good actress and singer. But if by any chance and you are reading this Ms. Mercado, you do not need to prove yourself by going with the flow and stripping off your clothes. Rather, keep them on and concentrate on acting. You do not actually need to prove anything. You are beautiful so there is no need to defile yourself.
Enough, please!
In the world today, showbizness is nudity's twin so I really hope that the sex kitten bandwagon will not be overpopulated. Enough, please! Women should respect themselves if they want to be respected by men. Sometimes people like these are the ones who contribute to the notion that women are sexual objects. So please, if you are Jennylyn's fan encourage her by remining her of what self-respect means.

Wholesome no more. In this picture, Jen is starting to show more skin. Photo from Malaya Philippines.

I agree with you that Jen should save her image. I just have to disagree with what you said that Jen is so very sexy in her show ILNY. Hahah! Actually, she looks kinda lusyang with those oversize t-shirts she's now wearing. As far as I know, the show has a dresser who will provide the dress Jen wears. I'm a follower of ILNY and I think what Jen is wearing is ok. My opinion only. Thanks for a nice blog post. God bless. :)
Heheh...Yeah, it's good that she now wears losyang clothes in the series. But during the first few parts of the show, she used to wear sexy clothes to portray her kikay and soxy character. Sometimes I also get a glimpse of her wearing cleavage showing tops. =) But thanks for posting your reaction, I appreciate it. =) Let's hope for a bright future for all of our celebrities! :)
Let's just pray she won't join in the sexy bandwagon. She had my respect when she join in the Bata Foundation, and when she portray a character so wonderfully in Blue Moon. Let's just hope she really won't join the bandwagon. She's a great actress and should spend her time mastering her craft rather that strip her clothes.
Yep, I totally agree with you, Anonymous! :)
